We are seeking a dedicated Specialist Learning Support Teacher to join our educational community. The successful candidate will have expertise in neurodiversity and experience in supporting students with Down Syndrome and broader neurodiverse needs.
Key Responsibilities- Developing Individualised Education Plans: You will have the ability to develop and implement personalised learning programs, with strong skills in differentiation and adjustment documentation aligned to NCCD.
- Collaboration and Communication: Capacity to work closely with classroom teachers, families, allied health professionals, and support staff to create a consistent approach.
- Behaviour and Engagement Strategies: Familiarity with trauma-informed practice, PBS (Positive Behaviour Support), and approaches like 'Kids Do Well If They Can' (Ross Greene).
- Leadership within Support: Ability to mentor, coordinate, and upskill colleagues in inclusive practice.
- Personal Care and Dignity: Ability to provide respectful support with toileting and hygiene needs, following student care plans, maintaining confidentiality, and upholding the student's dignity at all times.
