Disability Inclusion Facilitator Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and skilled educator to join our team as a Disability Inclusion Facilitator. As a key member of the Victorian Government Department's Disability Inclusion Profile, you will work closely with schools and staff to develop and implement strategies that promote inclusive education practices.

About the Role
  • Deliver the Disability Inclusion Profile in the Brimbank Melton area
  • Work collaboratively with schools, staff, and students to develop and implement inclusive education practices
  • Participate in extensive training and development activities, including regular shadowing, initial training, ongoing training and development opportunities, quality improvement days, and continuing professional support and guidance
Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate Disability Inclusion Profile meetings at schools
  • Provide leave for the school holiday period and discuss flexible working arrangements
  • Work from home with regular visits to schools
  • Align work time with Victorian school terms
Requirements
  • Qualifications as a Teacher
  • Current VIT registration
  • 5+ years of experience working in/with schools
  • Extensive knowledge of child development, disabilities or learning challenges that students may experience
  • Strong understanding of the principles of inclusion in education
  • Understanding of a strengths-based approach
  • Experience in group facilitation
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail combined with an ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to write concise and accurate reports
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Valid Australian driver license and reliable own car required for travel
