Job Title: Strategic Procurement Manager

About the Role:

  • We are seeking a highly experienced strategic procurement manager with federal government expertise for a long-term contract.
  • The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing end-to-end procurement activities, including market engagement, tender development, contract negotiation, execution, and ongoing management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies to drive business growth and improve efficiency.
  • Manage contractual frameworks, including SLAs, KPIs, governance arrangements, and compliance monitoring.
  • Work closely with internal and external finance teams to manage funding allocation, track expenditure, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate procurement activities through standardized processes, ensuring adherence to Commonwealth guidelines.
  • Liaise closely with central procurement areas and enabling teams to ensure alignment and resolve procurement issues.
  • Design and maintain procurement contract management tracking tools to monitor milestones, financial commitments, and reporting obligations.
  • Oversee SAP contract and purchase order management, invoicing, and financial reconciliation.
  • Provide regular input into procurement and financial briefs, risk assessments, and procurement strategy recommendations.
  • Deliver probity oversight, maintain probity registers, manage conflicts of interest, and escalate matters when required.
  • Prepare contract closure reports, documenting lessons learned, verifying compliance, and assessing supplier performance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in a federal government setting.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing procurement contracts, including negotiation, execution, and close-out.
  • Strong understanding of Commonwealth procurement policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
