Senior Social Worker

We are seeking a Senior Social Worker to join our Child Development Service (CDS) team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced social worker to work with children and their families in a multidisciplinary setting.

As a Senior Social Worker, you will be responsible for delivering high-level social work and clinical child development services to children and their families. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to empower families to understand their child's needs and optimize their health and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering social work and specialist child development clinical services as evidenced by high-level knowledge, clinical skills and expertise in complex contemporary child development clinical practice standards.
  • Applying independent professional judgement and problem-solving skills to a complex caseload adapting routine clinical practice using valid and reliable evidence to inform service delivery across the continuum of care.
  • Working collaboratively and effectively within a multidisciplinary child development team to empower families to understand their child and optimise their health and wellbeing.
  • Communicating appropriately and effectively with children and their families' using strengths based and family-centred principles of care to build family capacity to actively manage current and future health care needs.

In addition to your clinical expertise, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, parents/carers, multi-disciplinary team members, other health professionals and agencies.
