Job Description

The Child Health Nursing Specialist plays a pivotal role in providing advanced clinical and problem-solving skills, expert planning and coordination of family care to ensure quality standards are met.

This specialist works autonomously within the Healthcare Team structure, delivering child health nursing care and leading professional and clinical practice, education, and research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and governance to clinical staff via consultation with CHS Clinical Nurse Consultants.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders using the Child Health Liaison Model for effective data provision, workflow management, and recruitment support.
  • Leadership and facilitation of Grade 5 Registered Nurses undertaking the Transition Support Program-Child Health.
  • Maintenance of collaborative relationships with other health professionals, government agencies, and community organizations to enhance continuity of care in accordance with the Child Health Liaison Model.
