
Senior Child Development Specialist

Deliver high-level child development services for children and their families as part of a multidisciplinary team across multiple sites.
Apply clinical evidence to support service development/improvement activities within the team.
Provide supervision to less experienced professionals and support education/training activities.
- Delivering child development services as evidenced by high-level knowledge, clinical skills, and expertise in contemporary practice standards with minimal supervision.
- Applying professional judgement and problem-solving skills to adapt routine practice using valid evidence to inform delivery across the care continuum.
- Working collaboratively and effectively within the multidisciplinary team to empower families and support their participation/engagement in everyday life.
- Communicating appropriately and effectively with children/families using strengths-based principles of care to build capacity to manage current and future healthcare needs.
- Demonstrating high-level oral/written communication skills to work effectively with children, parents, multidisciplinary teams, other professionals/agencies.
- Actively participating in clinical practice supervision and ongoing professional development to ensure contemporary/evidence-informed skills/knowledge.
- Actively contributing to statewide support programs/service improvement to build upon evidence-based knowledge/skills in child development/support provision.
- Develop and implement evidence-based interventions to improve child outcomes.
- Contribute to the development/maintenance of policy/procedures/guidelines relevant to child development practice.
- Provide consultation/advice on child development issues to internal/external stakeholders.
- Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance child development services.
- High-level knowledge of child development theory/practice standards.
- Proven experience in delivering child development services/consultation/advice.
- Excellent communication skills/oral/written).
- Able to work independently/minimally supervised.
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances/priorities.
