About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Clinpath Pathology. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to make a meaningful contribution to our organisation.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining our Quality Management system, ensuring compliance with NATA guidelines within the Pre Analytical team. This will involve fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, as well as facilitating quality improvement in both action and documentation.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Policy and Procedure Maintenance: Update and maintain policies and procedures to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Document Review and Reporting: Assist to coordinate document reviews, preparation of reports, and other written communications to ensure department supervisors complete reviews in a timely manner.
  • Accreditation Support: Provide accreditation support to the Quality Manager.
  • Internal Audits: Perform internal audits and coordinate audit reports and actions, ensuring quality reports are tabled at monthly departmental meetings and actions followed.
  • Operational Support: Educate and support operational staff in relation to quality systems and processes.
  • Quality Data Analysis: Analyse quality data, including IMS, incident reports, site audits, client feedback, and complaints.
  • Risk Identification and Mitigation: Identify, monitor risks, and make recommendations for quality improvement initiatives or opportunities for the department.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop, maintain, and manage valued relationships with relevant external stakeholders.
  • Error Prevention and Response: Assist to review and coordinate responses and actions to Riskman/incident reports.
  • Information Systems Maintenance: Assist with maintaining information systems such as The Edge.
Requirements
  • Previous Laboratory Experience: Previous experience in a laboratory or pathology practice (preferred).
  • Quality Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with quality standards and systems.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to prepare and deliver training presentations confidently.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Customer Service: Demonstrated excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Independence and Teamwork: Proven ability to work independently and identify efficiencies and improvements.
  • Communication Style: Ability to communicate in a concise and articulate manner.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work in a team environment and, when required, to work autonomously.
  • Instruction Interpretation: Ability to interpret instructions and provide feedback to ensure systems, procedures, and processes are maintained at the highest standard.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite with intermediate or advanced skills in Excel & publication applications.
  • Covid-19 Vaccination: Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses).
What We Offer
  • Competitive Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
