About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our multidisciplinary team as a Senior Practitioner. This full-time permanent role is based in Mount Isa and involves working closely with young people aged 10-17 who are transitioning from detention back to their communities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing interventions, coaching, training, and developing colleagues to increase skill and competency for high-quality service delivery. They will also develop and maintain operational stakeholder relationships critical to program success, coordinate staff caseloads and program logistics, and monitor, evaluate, risk manage, and ensure child protection.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive quality program planning and implementation.
  • Coach, train, and develop colleagues to increase skill and competency for high-quality service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain operational stakeholder relationships critical to program success.
  • Coordinate staff caseloads and program logistics, monitoring, evaluation, risk management, and child protection.
  • Maintain a caseload of clients.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Demonstrated skills and experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, particularly those in contact with the justice system.
  • Demonstrated experience in youth work/case management roles.
  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring and coaching colleagues.
  • An understanding of complex intergenerational trauma.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • An understanding of child protection concerns and commitment to responding safely and effectively.
  • Sound time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage and plan your own workload.
