Our organization is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Senior Practitioner-Youth Justice Support.

  • This position involves driving quality program planning and implementation across multiple sites, ensuring that our services meet the needs of vulnerable young people and their families.
  • You will be responsible for providing coaching and support to colleagues, enhancing their skills and practice capabilities.
  • A key aspect of this role is building and sustaining strong partnerships with internal teams, government agencies, community Elders, and service providers to ensure effective collaboration and resource sharing.
  • You will hold a small caseload of clients, applying trauma-informed, culturally responsive practices to promote positive outcomes.
  • In addition, you will oversee case management, monitoring and evaluation, and risk management processes to ensure the safety and well-being of clients.
  • This role also involves contributing to team cohesion and staff development through training, debriefs, and reflective supervision.

Requirements:

  • Substantial experience supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and young people involved in the justice system.
  • A deep understanding of trauma-informed and strengths-based practice principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach staff, lead program quality, and manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Certification in Social Work, Community Development, or a related field (or significant equivalent experience).
  • A current Driver's Licence, ability to undergo a police check, and a current Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
