Family Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated professional to join our team as a Family Support Specialist. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering high-quality support services to families who are involved with the youth justice system.

As a Family Support Specialist, you will be responsible for working closely with families to identify their needs and develop comprehensive plans to address these needs. You will also provide coaching and training to colleagues to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge necessary to provide effective support to families.

Key aspects of this role include:

  • Providing emotional support and guidance to families to help them navigate the youth justice system
  • Developing and implementing plans to support families in achieving their goals
  • Collaborating with colleagues to coordinate support services and ensure a wrap-around approach to family support
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies and community organizations

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of the youth justice system and experience working with families who are involved with the system. You will also need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field, such as social work or psychology
  • Experience working with families who are involved with the youth justice system
  • Strong understanding of the Youth Justice system, orders and bail obligations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
