Position Overview
As a Senior Underwriter at Australian Retirement Trust, you will be integral to our Underwriting division, tasked with making well-informed evaluations on life insurance submissions and analyzing risk in accordance with our underwriting policies and protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess insurance applications, medical histories, and other pertinent information to evaluate risk and render underwriting judgments.
- Submit suitable risks to our reinsurer, accompanied by a detailed summary and recommendation.
- Recognize areas for enhancement and innovation, proposing suggestions that align with our strategic objectives and elevate member experience.
- Mentor and provide training to junior underwriters.
Candidate Profile
You possess extensive knowledge of life insurance, including its products, features, and regulatory requirements. Your analytical skills enable you to assess data and risk effectively, allowing for informed decision-making. You excel in communicating complex decisions in a straightforward manner.
- You are highly skilled and experienced in tele underwriting.
- You can effectively engage, advise, and influence a variety of stakeholders, including external partners, medical professionals, senior management, and others.
- You take pleasure in coaching and guiding your colleagues.
