About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our team at QBE Insurance. As an Underwriter, you will play a critical role in assessing and managing risk for our clients, ensuring that our policies meet their needs and provide the necessary protection.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite risks in accordance with defined limits of authority or class authority, organizational policy, and underwriting standards
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain high-value customers and improve poor-performing policies
  • Monitor client and market requirements and client feedback by conducting client calls and visits
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate and complies with organizational guidelines
  • Provide efficient and timely service and problem-solving solutions to brokers and clients
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with all customers, intermediaries, and internal stakeholders
  • Partner with the Manager Partnerships team to proactively engage and work on a strategic plan to grow the business with targeted customer segments
About You

To be successful in this Underwriting role, you will have:

  • Extensive underwriting experience within insurance, preferably within Business Packages and Farm
  • Established customer/broker relationship management and communication skills
  • Understanding of relevant insurance market conditions
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze data and use for decision making
  • Relevant problem-solving and negotiation skills
