Job Title: Patient Safety and Clinical Excellence Lead

We are seeking an exceptional healthcare professional to lead our patient safety and clinical excellence initiatives.

As a seasoned midwife with extensive experience in maternity services, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening our safety and quality culture.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading Governance Principles: Championing clinical governance principles, building capacity, and empowering clinicians and managers to improve systems and outcomes.
  • Policy and Procedure Development: Shaping policy and procedure development, ensuring alignment with evidence-based best practice and NSW Health standards.
  • Patient Safety Initiatives: Driving patient safety initiatives, using data analysis, risk identification, and performance monitoring to inform decisions and support clinical excellence.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborating strategically with internal and external stakeholders to promote consistent and high-quality care.
  • Staff Support: Supporting and coaching staff through change management, audit processes, and continuous improvement efforts.

Key Requirements:

  • Clinical Experience: Registration as a Registered Midwife with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia. Extensive clinical and management experience in maternity services or postgraduate qualifications at masters level.
  • Quality and Safety: Demonstrated experience in quality, safety, and clinical risk management within complex/acute maternity environments.
  • Skill Set: High-level interpersonal, communication, negotiation, influencing, and motivational skills. Ability to analyse and synthesise data to drive improvement.
  • Leadership Skills: Leadership, coaching, mentoring, and training skills to support change management initiatives.
