Social Support Role

We are seeking an experienced Support Worker to join our team on a Casual basis. As a Support Professional, you will provide exceptional support to individuals living with disability in SIL settings.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering person-centred active support in one-to-one settings
  • Assisting in creating and monitoring individual goal plans or following planned programs
  • Completing required documentation and progress notes as needed
  • Promoting a stimulating, caring, and culturally sensitive environment
  • Providing self-care, social, and emotional support to participants
  • Utilising positive behaviour support strategies and authorised restrictive practices when necessary
  • Attending sleepover shifts and addressing participant needs
  • Maintaining effective communication with stakeholders, including Team Leaders, peers, and management
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Ability to complete sleepovers
  • Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with disabilities
  • Dedication to person-centred support principles and individualised support practices
  • Capacity to complete job tasks according to participant plans in a timely manner
  • Understanding of 'duty of care' and ability to escalate issues when necessary
  • Accurate written records and documentation skills
  • Clear and concise verbal communication
  • Passion for improving the lives of people with disabilities
Additional Requirements

You will also need to possess:

  • Criminal History Check (less than 6 months old)
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening and Blue Card
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates
  • A current 'C' class driver's licence and a roadworthy, registered vehicle

We estimate the salary for this position to be around $55-$65 per hour, depending on your level of experience and qualifications. This translates to approximately $70,000-$80,000 per year based on 20 hours of work per week.
