Risk and Compliance Specialist Role Overview
We are seeking a Risk and Compliance Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in risk management and compliance, with experience in regulatory frameworks and stakeholder engagement.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective execution of our Risk Management Framework and overseeing risk and compliance strategies. This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with senior executives and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor compliance across business and risk domains
- Review obligation alerts and support mandatory reporting
- Provide ongoing oversight and guidance under the APRA FAR Advisor role
- Maintain and update Risk Appetite Statements and supporting measures
- Support the development of mitigation strategies for critical risks
- Update policies and procedures and provide governance input on remediation and communications
- Maintain compliance training modules and support staff education
- Advise on compliance in strategic initiatives and contribute to risk culture and regulatory reform programs
- Deliver Risk and Compliance reports to senior forums and support incident investigations
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a 1st or 2nd line risk and compliance role within a General Insurance environment
- Exposure to a range of regulatory frameworks and requirements
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- High-level report writing skills tailored for senior management and board-level audiences
