Save the Children Australia invites applications for a Project Director to lead a pioneering initiative supporting education systems in vulnerable countries adapt to climate change.

About the Role

This full-time, maximum term home-based position will oversee the Building the Climate Resilience of Children and Communities through the Education Sector (BRACE) project. BRACE is a groundbreaking initiative providing strategic support to education systems in vulnerable countries.

Reporting to the Principal Climate Change & Education Advisor, you'll provide leadership and oversight of BRACE, collaborating with ministries of education, global partners, and in-country teams.

You will make a difference by:

  • Ensuring timely implementation, effective budget management, and technical excellence in the delivery of BRACE.
  • Providing high-quality technical leadership, guidance, advocacy, and communications resources.
  • Building strong partnerships and ensuring effective functioning of the BRACE co-finance platform through stakeholder engagement and collaboration.
About You

We're seeking a seasoned leader with extensive experience managing complex programs and navigating partnerships across governments, donors, and global institutions.

Key qualifications include:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Project Lead or equivalent, with a track record of successfully managing large initiatives in development or humanitarian settings.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Expertise in strategic planning and operational oversight, including financial/budget management and donor compliance.
