This position is key to ensuring that the design and implementation of public domain lighting assets, and associated electrical and lighting infrastructure align with sustainable renewal objectives.

**Key Responsibilities**:

  • Manage the City's lighting and electrical assets under the guidance of the Principal Engineer, including condition assessment, project scoping, maintenance and renewal programs, and ensuring assets are constructed and handed over in accordance with requirements recorded in the City's assets and GIS systems.
  • Investigate public domain electrical and lighting issues and inquiries, prepare technical reports with recommendations on appropriate actions, undertake field inspections as required, and prepare accurate reports.
  • Assist in managing third-party requests for access to the City's electrical and lighting infrastructure defined by Facility Access Agreements and other arrangements.
  • Support the development and management of contracts, exercising good governance, strong project management control, and effective decision-making. Develop specifications, contracts, and service delivery arrangements to maintain and supply electrical and lighting assets, ensuring service provider compliance through appropriate controls and performance management.

**Key Challenges**:

  • Providing timely and accurate advice in a high-volume environment.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective partnerships with multiple stakeholders.
  • Managing multiple tasks from multiple people delivering across the unit.
  • Managing contracts and monitoring the provision of services to ensure compliance with contract and service agreements.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**:

  • Tertiary qualifications in electrical engineering or relevant experience as an experienced licenced tradesperson in electrical construction, project management, contract management, or a related field.
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and negotiation skills with a customer service focus.
  • Experience achieving outcomes through effective dealings with consultants, contractors, and service providers.
  • Demonstrated relevant knowledge in the electrical construction industry.
  • NSW Class C Driver License.
