
Senior Culinary Specialist

The Chef De Partie is a crucial role within the culinary team.
This position entails assisting in the development and training of junior chefs, setting up and maintaining working areas, fostering positive relationships between back-of-house and front-of-house staff, and overseeing kitchen operations during the absence of senior team members. Additionally, this role requires adhering to hotel policies and food safety standards.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assist with the growth and development of junior chefs
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Develop and maintain strong relationships between kitchen and service teams
- Oversee daily kitchen operations when senior staff are absent
- Foster a culture of quality and excellence in food preparation and presentation
Key Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience in high-pressure culinary environments, preferably in fine dining or luxury hotels
- Knowledge of Modern Australian and Classic European cuisine
- Relevant certifications such as Certificate IV Commercial Cookery or higher
- Proven HACCP and local Food Safety Handling & Hygiene knowledge
- Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to train and motivate junior staff
- Flexibility to work on a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Proficiency in computer software, particularly Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
