About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled researcher to lead the development of novel modelling techniques for self-consistent analysis of black hole horizons and their observational signatures within a dynamic research environment.

This role offers the chance to collaborate with leading experts in the field, including Prof. Daniel Terno and Prof. Robert Mann, as well as contribute to cutting-edge projects at the forefront of theoretical physics.

The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for driving the advancement of knowledge in quantum aspects of physical black holes, collapse models, and properties of ultra-compact objects such as quasi-normal modes.

  • Develop and implement advanced modelling codes to simulate complex astrophysical phenomena
  • Leverage expertise in general relativity and numerical relativity to drive project success
  • Contribute to manuscript preparation and publication, and assist in supervising graduate students
Essential Requirements
  • A Ph.D. in Physics, Astrophysics, or Mathematical Physics
  • Expertise in general relativity and experience in numerical simulation of quantum field-detector interaction
  • Strong programming skills and ability to develop innovative solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
