Postdoctoral Research Fellow Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and suitably qualified Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team in a cutting-edge project focused on the self-consistent analysis of black hole horizons and their observational signatures.

About the Project

The research will involve the development of modelling codes and leading at least one project within the broader research program. You will also contribute to the theoretical components of the project, including analysis of results, manuscript preparation for publication, and potentially assisting in supervising graduate students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of modelling codes.
  • Collaborate with Professor Daniel Terno and Robert Mann.
  • Contribute to theoretical components of the project.
Job Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A PhD in Physics, Astrophysics, or Mathematical Physics.
  • A working knowledge of general relativity and at least one of the following: black hole physics, alternative theories of gravity, numerical relativity, lower-dimensional quantum gravity.
  • A strong record of computer programming.
  • Experience in numerical relativity and/or numerical simulation of quantum field-detector interaction.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a member of an effective team.
