Research Scientist Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and suitably qualified Scientist to join our research team. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects focused on black hole physics, quantum gravity, and numerical relativity.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with leading researchers in the field and contribute to the development of modelling codes. They will also lead the theoretical components of the project, including analysis of results, manuscript preparation for publication, and supervising graduate students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct high-level scientific research in black hole physics, quantum gravity, and numerical relativity
  • Develop and implement advanced numerical methods for solving complex physical problems
  • Analyse results and prepare manuscripts for publication in leading scientific journals
  • Supervise graduate students and provide guidance on research projects
Requirements
  • PhD in Physics, Astrophysics, or Mathematical Physics
  • Working knowledge of general relativity and at least one of the following: black hole physics, alternative theories of gravity, numerical relativity, lower-dimensional quantum gravity
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or C++
  • Experience in numerical simulations and data analysis
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a research team
