Postdoctoral Research Fellowship

A highly motivated and suitably qualified researcher will spearhead a cutting-edge project focusing on the self-consistent analysis of black hole horizons and their observational signatures.

About the Project

The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with Professors Daniel Terno and Robert Mann at the University of Waterloo, as well as a team of HDR students.

The research will explore quantum aspects of physical black holes, collapse models, and properties of ultra-compact objects such as quasi-normal modes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop advanced modeling codes to drive project progress.
  • Lead primary projects within the broader research program.
  • Contribute theoretical components to the project.
Selection Criteria
  • PhD in Physics, Astrophysics, or Mathematical Physics.
  • Proficiency in general relativity and at least one of the following: black hole physics, alternative theories of gravity, numerical relativity, lower-dimensional quantum gravity.
  • Strong programming skills.
  • Experience in numerical relativity and/or numerical simulation of quantum field-detector interaction.
