The Role

The Business Planning Analyst will support the MUFG Retirement Solutions Business Planning & Analysis team by providing financial insights and advice to help Technology & Transformation leaders make informed decisions and drive strategic initiatives.

This role requires a strong forward-looking and strategic approach to interpret the financial activities of the business, coupled with effective communication and consultation with the business.

  • Oversee monthly run rate meetings with Technology & Transformation leaders to review performance and resolve variances.
  • Support annual budget preparation and related processes.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and communicate financial results and key performance drivers.
  • Develop and deliver regular ad-hoc analysis of financial and statistical data.
  • Maximize TM1 enterprise planning software capabilities.
  • Analyze financial activities for process improvement solutions.
  • Deliver financial business support to unit heads; conduct monthly reviews and provide management information.
  • Collaborate with leaders to produce accurate budgets and update forecasts.
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial forecasts, highlighting risks and opportunities.
Experience & Personal Attributes
  • 5+ years' experience of working with budgeting, forecasting and business partnering with a commercial and financial focus.
  • Good MS Excel modelling skills.
  • Your ability to influence and your stakeholder management abilities will be critical to your success in this position as well as your ability to navigate across a large organization with various business units.
  • Enthusiastic – genuinely enjoys data analysis, problem solving, and the satisfaction of pulling something useful from a sea of numbers.
  • Flexible and responsive, able to work to tight deadlines within a global, complex and matrixed environment.
  • Ability to work with precision and have a keen eye for detail but also refer back to the big picture.
