Rail Operations Specialist

The primary role of a Rail Operations Coordinator is to ensure the effective planning and management of rail operations within a company. This involves maintaining close communication with customers and implementing, monitoring, and reporting on rail services and train operations in accordance with established requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage rail assets to meet business needs and customer expectations.
- Develop and promote a comprehensive Safety, Health, and Environment Management Plan and Risk Register.
- Detect and report potential causes of incidents and ensure relevant personnel are notified of all critical rail safety incidents.
- Review mainline and rail terminal operations to ensure compliance with rail safety standards.
- Participate in accident and incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
Operational Leadership:
- Create weekly schedules aligned with customer requirements.
- Affect changes to service paths as needed.
- Manage QUBE CONNECT for efficient loading of services and maintain data integrity.
- Maximize service capacity and locomotive utilization.
- Influence teams responsible for train services and resources in real-time environments.
Financial Performance:
- Implement strategies to optimize resource allocation for quality, efficiency, safety, and costs of rail operations.
- Manage revenue and costs to meet or exceed the rail business plan.
Customer Relations:
- Negotiate and manage customer accounts to meet contract needs and expectations.
- Lead customer business review processes and provide exceptional customer service.
