About This Position

Our organization is a prominent player in the commercial construction industry, renowned for its reliability and commitment to ongoing development. Our team consists of seasoned professionals who have facilitated growth and development into intricate projects, including architectural homes, multi-unit developments, and institutional buildings.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and scrutinizing financial reports and claims, with particular emphasis on the management of subcontractor claims, invoices, and overall project costs in relation to forecasts.

They will also provide analytical and market-driven research to inform the selection and subsequent engagement of subcontractors, including negotiating terms and pricing, and management of performance in alignment with project timelines, quality standards, and safety requirements.

In addition, the successful candidate will ensure the existing suite of contracts within the designated remit are managed in strict adherence to company policies, procedures, and relevant legal frameworks; this includes but is not limited to the maintenance of accurate records, adherence to key contract milestones, and management of performance/obligations as per the contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review financial reports and claims
  • Manage subcontractor claims, invoices, and project costs
  • Provide analytical and market-driven research to select and engage subcontractors
  • Ensure contracts are managed in accordance with company policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Previous experience developing, sourcing, and managing contracts within commercial construction/civil environments
  • Demonstrated experience within negotiations across commercial savings, dispute/claim resolution, variations to terms and conditions etc.
  • A comprehensive understanding of contract law and the subsequent ability to identify and manage risks
  • Tertiary qualifications within either engineering, or construction management
