Emergency Medicine Consultant Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team in a high-acuity Emergency Department as an experienced Emergency Medicine Consultant (FACEM). The role offers the chance to lead a dedicated multidisciplinary team and contribute to the ongoing development of a regional trauma service.

  • Provide specialist emergency medical care in a busy regional ED, delivering optimal patient outcomes.
  • Deliver clinical leadership during shifts, ensuring seamless teamwork and communication among healthcare professionals.
  • Supervise and mentor Registrars, Junior Medical Officers, and medical students, fostering their growth and development.
  • Collaborate with other specialists at GV Health, supporting out-of-hours coverage and contributing to strategic planning and service development.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives at GV Health, driving excellence in patient care and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • High-quality specialist emergency medical care in a 36-bed ED, including designated regional trauma services.
  • Leadership and supervision of junior medical staff, promoting a culture of safety and respect.
  • Collaboration with colleagues to ensure effective communication and coordination of patient care.

Requirements:

  • Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM).
  • Current Specialist Registration with AHPRA.
  • Demonstrated leadership and teaching experience, with a commitment to delivering best practice care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
