Counsellor Advocate
About the Role:We are seeking highly skilled Counsellor Advocates to join our team in advancing human rights and supporting trauma recovery for refugee background individuals and families.
Main Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough biopsychosocial assessments with individuals and families to develop clear formulations and client-centred therapeutic goals.
- Provide trauma-informed and trauma-focused counselling and therapeutic interventions using evidence-based modalities.
- Deliver psychoeducation in individual, family and group settings.
- IDentify critical issues affecting clients' wellbeing, mental health and safety, and develop strategies for addressing these concerns.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work, counselling or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in counselling, preferably in a similar context or trauma-focused service provision.
- Experience conducting psychosocial assessments and risk assessments of adults and families.
- Ability to produce high-quality professional reports for various stakeholders.
- Familiarity with navigating multiple service systems to support clients' needs.
- Prior experience working with Asylum Seeker clients is advantageous.
