People and Culture Specialist

About the Role
As a People and Culture Specialist at Assurant, you will be responsible for providing support and guidance to our people leaders in Auburn, focusing on People and Culture activities. This is an end-to-end role that will allow you to contribute to the execution of local and global people initiatives and rhythms.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and coach people leaders through People and Culture process rhythms for Australia and globally, including talent reviews, performance management, and end-of-year performance ratings and compensation review processes.
- Sourcing talent for our teams and coaching team leaders on interviewing skills, with a focus on enhancing the candidate experience.
- Assist in providing leaders and team members with policy interpretation and guidance, with a focus on coaching managers to explore and consider courses of action, potential risks, and decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with Fair Work, OHS, and other relevant legislation, and internal HR policies and procedures, aligning Assurant policies with current industry practice.
About You
We are looking for someone with a collaborative mindset, passion for all things People, and a strong understanding of our culture and values. If you have the following qualifications and experience, we would love to hear from you:
- 2+ years of relevant People and Culture experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a similar field.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of local employee relations framework, Fair Work Act, and other related legislation.
- Experience with Workday or other HRIS is desirable.
- Relevant HR work experience or internship is desirable.
