About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Animation Researcher to join our team at Electronic Arts Inc. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative animation technology and work with a talented group of researchers and engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement novel animation techniques and algorithms for real-time use cases in games and game development pipelines.
  • Collaborate with game teams and central technology groups to understand their requirements and bring expertise in overlapping areas.
  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of animation technology, from research and development to product implementation.
  • Share and influence animation at EA, across different forums such as Tech Summits, internal conferences, and other opportunities.
  • Share your work through publications, open sourcing, and speaking at conferences.
Requirements
  • At least 15 years of experience in the gaming industry or a related field, with a focus on real-time animation research and development.
  • Expertise in animation algorithms and techniques, with optional experience with machine learning techniques for animation and character movement.
  • A track record of delivering animation technology, either in AAA games or relevant products.
  • Publications, presentations, or related artifacts in real-time animation research.
  • Proficient in programming languages such as C++, Python, or similar.
  • Familiarity with game engines.
  • Ability to work well within a team and collaborate with other researchers, engineers, artists, and designers.
  • Willingness to travel for conferences and visit teams across EA studios.
  • Care about video games.
  • Optional experience leading a team.
