About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Northline's International Freight team as a Business Development Executive. Reporting to the Business Development Manager, you will be based at our Sydney office and will be responsible for growing Northline's International Freight business through both existing and new customer sales channels.

You will work closely with the IFM and Sales teams to identify and pursue new business opportunities, manage your own customer portfolio, and develop new sales strategies to drive the business forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop new business opportunities within the International market;
  • Grow and service a portfolio of Northline accounts;
  • Meet and exceed sales targets and KPI's including customer satisfaction, face-to-face visits and retention;
  • Develop new sales strategies to drive the business forward;
  • Review and analyse accounts within your portfolio to ensure an understanding of your customer's challenges;
  • Provide the necessary information and/or training to customers within your portfolio; and
  • Actively review and report on competitor activity and industry trends.

Requirements:

  • Proven history of identifying, developing and establishing key internal and external relationships, ideally in a selling environment;
  • Prior knowledge and understanding of the International Freight industry is essential;
  • Experience in negotiations with customer and shipping agents alike;
  • Knowledge of the logistics and warehousing industry also very desirable;
  • Sound business acumen coupled with an advanced understanding of the International Freight marketplace;
  • Demonstrated ability to provide service-based solutions to customer challenges;
  • Advanced skills in negotiation, influencing, persuasion and conflict resolution skills within a sales environment;
  • Self-motivation and resilience combined with a track history of achieving sales targets;
  • Exceptional presentation skills with the ability to deliver high-impact proposals to a diverse audience;
  • Excellent language, literacy, numeracy and communication skills; and
  • Advanced Microsoft Office suite skills and experience with in-house CRM software packages.

The salary on offer will be commensurate with your skills, experience and knowledge in the Domestic &/or International Freight Management industries. In addition to the salary range indicated, a $10,000 pa Car Allowance and Customer Referral Incentive is also on offer.
