Job Details

This permanent full-time position is based in Mackay, a thriving coastal city known for its relaxed lifestyle and strong community spirit. As a Building Inspector, you will be responsible for providing expert advice, mediating disputes, and carrying out building inspections that help uphold safety, quality, and confidence in the industry.

You will work closely with homeowners, builders, and industry professionals, using your problem-solving skills to ensure standards are met and outcomes are fair. This involves administering relevant regulatory provisions, preparing detailed technical reports, and contributing to disciplinary proceedings, including giving evidence before tribunals and courts.

In this role, you will also be involved in operational planning and delivering exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements
  • A Builder's License from QBCC is mandatory.
  • Candidates must possess or be willing to obtain a Certificate IV in Government Investigations within six months.
  • A current driver's license with a good driving record is required, as travel across the State is necessary.
  • Strong knowledge of building standards, legislation, and codes is essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, mediation, investigative, and problem-solving skills are required.
