Job Description:

The successful candidate will lead safe and compliant operations across multiple sites in QLD. This role involves developing into a future general manager position for the right individual.

You will provide hands-on support, coaching, and leadership to operational teams while influencing regional strategy. This is an ideal opportunity for a safety leader with strong operational knowledge who is ready to broaden their leadership impact and step into a more senior business-wide remit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of HSE policies, standards, and procedures across multiple sites.
  • Lead incident investigations and support root cause analysis.
  • Partner with regional leadership to deliver strategic HSE outcomes that align with business priorities.
  • Coach frontline leaders to embed a proactive safety culture and drive accountability.
  • Deliver and oversee HSE training, audits, and compliance assessments.
  • Ensure alignment with Federal and State Regulations and industry standards.
  • Manage health, injury management, and return-to-work programs.
  • Represent the business with regulatory bodies, industry forums, and community stakeholders.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline (preferred). A minimum of 7 years of experience in a senior HSE role, ideally within high-risk industries (explosives/dangerous goods experience highly regarded), is required.

Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 systems is essential. The candidate should demonstrate success in influencing HSE culture and driving performance improvement across multiple sites. Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills are also necessary.

What You Bring:

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related discipline (preferred),
7+ years of experience in senior HSE role, strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 systems, demonstrated success influencing HSE culture, exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
