In collaboration with Save the Children, Deakin University initiated the Centre for Humanitarian Leadership (CHL) in 2015, aiming to merge academic excellence with humanitarian practices to reform the humanitarian landscape. CHL is dedicated to fostering impactful change through rigorous analysis, transformative education, and significant contributions to policy and practice.
This role presents an exciting opportunity to be part of a small, dynamic, and high-achieving team responsible for overseeing the innovative CLP (short course) offered by the Centre of Humanitarian Leadership. Your responsibilities will encompass course promotion, addressing student inquiries, and evaluating student applications. You will coordinate a team of international experts and facilitators, managing logistics, financial administration, process enhancements, and exploring future business development opportunities for program expansion. As the primary contact for the CLP course, you will ensure seamless planning and execution from inception to completion. There is substantial potential for growth, with possibilities for extension upon securing additional funding.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee project requirements and financial management in collaboration with the Projects and Grants Manager for all non-French CLP short courses, currently available in English, Ukrainian, and Polish, with plans to introduce Arabic and Spanish courses in the future.
- Ensure timely and accurate communication with applicants, guest speakers, facilitators, stakeholders, and potential partners regarding all aspects of the CLP course.
- Assist in the recruitment of CLP short course candidates in partnership with the Communications and Marketing Team.
- Organize the CLP Selection Panel to review applications and manage the outcomes of the application process.
- Engage in additional initiatives and projects that align with the strategic objectives of the Centre for Humanitarian Leadership, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Faculty of Arts and Education.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's or master's degree, preferably with relevant experience in the humanitarian or development sector.
- Extensive experience in an administrative coordination role, ideally within a higher education institution, research organization, NGO, or similar entity, with a focus on program coordination and delivery.
- Proven track record in project management, utilizing effective project management methodologies in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Familiarity with financial systems used in universities and/or NGOs for managing accounts payable and receivable.
- Understanding of humanitarian work and environments, along with knowledge of educational and research funding landscapes.
- Proficiency in a language other than English is highly desirable.
