Centre of Humanitarian Leadership: In collaboration with Save the Children, Deakin University initiated the Centre of Humanitarian Leadership (CHL) in 2015. The CHL is dedicated to merging academic excellence with humanitarian practice, aiming to innovate and reform the humanitarian sector through impactful education, research, and policy contributions.
Role Overview: This position presents an exciting opportunity to join a compact, high-achieving team responsible for the innovative CLP short course offered by the Centre of Humanitarian Leadership. The role encompasses comprehensive management of course logistics, including promotion, student inquiries, and application assessments. You will oversee a network of international experts and facilitators, ensuring efficient operations, financial oversight, and strategic growth for future program expansions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee project requirements and financial management in collaboration with the Projects and Grants Manager for all non-French CLP short courses, currently available in English, Ukrainian, and Polish, with plans to introduce Arabic and Spanish in the near future.
- Facilitate timely and accurate communication with applicants, guest speakers, facilitators, and relevant stakeholders regarding all aspects of the CLP course.
- Assist in the recruitment process for CLP short course candidates alongside the Communications and Marketing Team.
- Coordinate the CLP Selection Panel to review applications and manage the outcomes effectively.
- Engage in additional initiatives and projects that align with the strategic objectives of the Centre for Humanitarian Leadership, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Faculty of Arts and Education.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's or master's degree with relevant experience is preferred, particularly in the humanitarian or development sectors.
- Proven experience in an administrative coordination role, ideally within a higher education institution, research organization, or NGO, with a focus on program management and delivery.
- Demonstrated expertise in project management, particularly in complex, multi-stakeholder settings.
- Familiarity with financial systems used in universities or NGOs, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Knowledge and experience in humanitarian work and the associated educational and research funding landscape.
- Professional proficiency in a language other than English is highly desirable.
