Job Summary

The Regulatory Legal team provides advice and support to regulatory activities, including investigations under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (WHS Act) and criminal prosecutions for alleged contraventions of the WHS Act.

About this Role

This Aps6 Legal Adviser role supports the Regulatory Operations Group by providing specialist legal and strategic advice and support to staff on complex legal and policy matters. The role involves working closely with Senior Legal Advisers in performing their roles and managing workload in a manner consistent with the APS Values and Code of Conduct.

Mandatory Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Admission as a legal practitioner of the High Court or the Supreme Court of an Australian State or Territory (three years or more post-admission experience is desirable).
  • A current practising certificate or ability to obtain one within three months.
