About This Role:

As a Calibration Specialist, you will apply your knowledge of mathematics and electronics to calibrate inspection, measurement, and test equipment to ensure measurement accuracy. This position requires minimal supervision, allowing you to work independently and take ownership of your tasks.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Calibrate inspection, measurement, and test equipment in various disciplines, including acoustical, dimensional, DC/low frequency, RF/microwave, optical, and time & frequency
  • Track and control all calibration records in our database
  • Maintain calibration standards and perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment
  • Develop calibration procedures and methods according to detailed specifications, drawings, and other technical requirements
  • Evaluate new calibration methods and procedures

Requirements:

  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent with 5 years experience in electrics or calibration
  • Excellent mathematical and problem-solving skills
  • Good computer skills and proficiency in MS Word and Excel
  • Ability to learn databases and software applications
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Technical writing ability
  • Intermediate ability to troubleshoot, repair, align, and optimize precision equipment

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of calibration experience with some offset by formal metrology training
  • Knowledge of Quality Management system (ISO 9001, ISO 17025)
  • Strong attention to details
  • Self-motivation, teamwork, and ability to follow written procedures

Work Environment:

Able to lift, push, pull 25 lbs; carry 15 lbs; sit 10%; stand 60%; walk 40%; must be able to perform activities that include stooping, reaching, handling, hearing, talking, seeing, working alone, working around others
