Underground Drilling Assistant

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as an Underground Drilling Assistant. As a key member of our drilling crew, you will be responsible for assisting in the retrieval and processing of core samples from underground operations.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Handling inner tubes to retrieve core and empty into core trays.
  • Repetitive heavy lifting of over 20kg.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, including washing the LV at end of shift.
  • Identifying and reporting potential hazards to the Driller or Supervisor.

Requirements:

  • A current Australian manual driver's license.
  • A National Police Clearance issued within the past three months.
  • The ability to speak, read and write fluently in English.
  • A proactive attitude towards safety and hazard identification.
  • The ability to perform shift work and be away from home for two weeks at a time.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to complete a pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol screen.
  • A positive work ethic aligned with our company values.
  • Availability to attend the assessment centre for our selection process.

Desirable Skills:

  • A Working at Heights Certificate.
  • A First Aid Certificate.
  • Previous experience in labour-intensive physical roles.
  • Previous experience assisting exploration drilling operations.
