Barminco is one of the world's largest hard-rock underground mining companies, with operations in Australia and across the globe.
We are currently seeking entry-level applications for Underground Diamond Drillers Assistants for our Cowal Operations located in New South Wales.
The Opportunity:- Key responsibilities include handling inner tubes to retrieve core and empty into core trays.
- Repetitive heavy lifting of equipment and supplies is also a critical aspect of this role.
- Maintaining all equipment and ensuring workspaces are clean, including washing the LV at end of shift, is essential.
- Identifying and rectifying potential hazards and communicating immediately to the Driller or Supervisor is crucial.
- A valid Australian manual driver's license.
- A National Police Clearance (within 3 months of issue).
- Clear ability to speak, read, write in fluent English.
- A proactive attitude toward safety and hazard identification.
- Ability to perform shift work and be away from home for two weeks at a time.
- Mechanically minded and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to complete a pre-employment medical including drug & alcohol screen.
- A positive work ethic in line with Barminco's vision and principles.
- Availability to attend the assessment centre for our selection process.
- Working at Heights Certificate.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Previous experience in labour-intensive physical roles.
- Previous experience assisting exploration drilling operations.
