Job Title: People and Safety Operations Team Leader

The Townsville Catholic Education Office is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to lead their People and Safety operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a range of administrative processes across the employment lifecycle, with a focus on enhancing the employee experience.

  • Lead and coordinate a broad range of People and Safety operational and administration processes.
  • Enhance the capability and reputation of the People and Safety function through a results-driven approach.
  • Develop and lead a high-performing team of administrators through process design, team training and development opportunities.
  • Manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate with other members of the leadership team on innovation and process improvement opportunities.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build the capacity of the team by identifying and facilitating professional development opportunities.
  • Oversee the outsourced payroll function to ensure compliance with industrial instruments, policies, and legislation.
  • Identify, develop, and implement operational process improvements to enhance customer experience and create workflow efficiencies.
  • Interpret, apply, and provide considered advice on the application of Enterprise Agreements, Policy, and Legislation as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Current paid Working with Children Blue Card or ability to obtain prior to commencement.
  • Degree or diploma level qualification in HR/IR/ER or other similar disciplines or experience commensurate with these qualifications.
  • Current Driver's Licence.
  • Proficient use of HRIS systems, Microsoft, and Google Suite of applications.
