Unlocking Potential in South Australian Communities

The Department for Education strives to provide equitable education and learning opportunities that prioritize wellbeing.

Our strategy aims to empower young people to succeed academically, culturally, and personally. The Aboriginal Pathways program sits within the Student Pathways and Careers Division and is a highly regarded education, cultural, and sporting initiative with academies operating in high schools across South Australia.

The program creates a culturally safe environment that supports Aboriginal students to stay engaged in school and complete their SACE. School-based academies work in partnership with local communities to strengthen cultural knowledge and connection, promote health and wellbeing, and build skills in education, personal development, and leadership.

As a School Operations Coordinator, you will develop and lead programs designed to engage secondary Aboriginal students, focusing on culture, health, language, sport, and wellbeing. You will ensure that staff have access to high-quality learning resources to deliver culturally relevant teaching programs.

The position involves maximizing senior-year student outcomes and preparing students for successful post-school transitions.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Relevant graduate qualifications and experience working with Aboriginal communities and networks across South Australia are desirable. You will also be required to gain a DHS working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed and undertake RRHAN -EC course or online fundamentals course.

What We Offer

A rewarding role with opportunities for career growth and development.
