Job Title: Children's Therapeutic Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Children's Therapeutic Practitioner to join our team at Relationships Australia South Australia.

About the Role

This is a part-time position (up to 60.8 fortnightly hours) that offers a competitive annual salary, superannuation, and salary packaging opportunities. The successful candidate will be based in Hindmarsh and will have the flexibility to work across various locations in the metropolitan region.

About the Team

Our team at Relationships Australia South Australia is dedicated to providing specialist children's therapeutic outreach services to children aged 0-12 years old who are accompanying a parent/s into a Family Domestic Violence or Homeless Services. As a Children's Therapeutic Practitioner, you will be responsible for developing and providing individual 10-session therapeutic programs that respond to the child's experiences of trauma.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake child-focused assessments of children and their caregivers, utilizing the RASA DOORS framework and various outcome and evaluation tools.
  • Provide customized therapeutic programs to individual children in their homes, other agencies, or outreach locations.
  • Maintain a caseload of individual children or as prescribed by the Team Leader, working across outreach locations in the metropolitan region, and participate in regular case reviews to ensure progression towards therapeutic goals.
  • Ensure evaluation, feedback from the child and families' voice is collected, heard, and actioned within program boundaries.
  • Take initiative and work collaboratively within the team to develop own therapeutic skills, reflective practice, and professional judgment in responding to children and families.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree (AQF Level 7) in Early Childhood, Social Work, Social Science, Human Services, Psychology, Health, Occupational Therapy, or Midwifery, or a Certificate (AQF Level 4) or Diploma (AQF Level 5) in Counselling, Infant Mental Health, Childhood Trauma, and delivering evidence-based parenting programs with significant relevant experience.
  • Experience in working therapeutically with children.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience in working with children and families in crisis or experiencing domestic violence and homelessness.
  • Understanding of the effects of trauma on infants, children, and adults.
  • Experience in working with Aboriginal communities, children, families, and services.

Salary packaging is an entitlement granted by the Federal Government to workers in approved non-government and health organizations.
