Role Overview

 

As an Outreach Program Coordinator, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of students by leading outreach programs that expand access to higher education. You will be responsible for managing, designing, and implementing outreach programs to broaden access to higher education for students from regional and low socio-economic backgrounds.

 

This dynamic role requires experience in event management and engaging with young people, with flexible hours to accommodate occasional out-of-hours work. You will have the opportunity to work alongside a talented team to develop and deliver on-campus and in-school activities designed to inspire and support students.

 

The successful candidate will possess excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain accurate records. They will also have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including schools, UQ faculties, and government agencies.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Managing, designing, and implementing outreach programs to broaden access to higher education for students from regional and low socio-economic backgrounds.

  • Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including schools, UQ faculties, and government agencies.

  • Coordinating and participating in the delivery of outreach activities, including on-campus experiences, workshops, and presentations.

  • Supervising Outreach Program Officers, including workload management and performance appraisals.

  • Overseeing the administrative aspects of outreach activities, including communication, event planning, and budget management.

  • Monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on program outcomes, including post-event analysis and the implementation of evaluation mechanisms.

 

Requirements

 

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or extensive experience in a related field.

  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain accurate records.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Experience in event management and engaging with young people.

  • Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate occasional out-of-hours work.

  • Valid open driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Current Queensland Government Blue Card or the ability to attain one.
