The School Engagement Officer plays a pivotal role in positioning QUT as a university of choice for prospective students by fostering relationships with guidance officers, teachers and other stakeholders, and coordinating outreach activities.

This key position provides course and admission information to prospective students, their advisers and supporting organisations, as well as administration support for the Domestic Student Recruitment unit.

The Marketing and Communication Department is responsible for building and protecting QUT's brand awareness and reputation, engaging and recruiting future students, and ensuring communications from QUT are effective and of high professional standard.

As a strong communicator, you will build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and communicate the shared QUT values in your approach to work.

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to completion of a relevant degree in conjunction with subsequent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated strong time management and attention to detail, including the ability to coordinate a range of competing work demands to achieve specified objectives within agreed timelines with a minimum of supervision.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, to effectively manage logistical and administrative operations for a busy team.
  • A high level of interpersonal skills including the ability to build positive relationships, and communicate, negotiate and collaborate confidently with external clients, colleagues, staff at all levels of an organisation and suppliers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, to prepare routine correspondence and itineraries or to provide one-on-one advice to clients.
