Job Overview

A Structural Engineer is responsible for designing and constructing buildings that meet safety standards and codes.

This role will work closely with the team to design and analyze various projects from preliminary sketches to construction documents.

  • Direct and lead teams of designers in designing and analyzing structural drawings for new buildings, additions, and renovations
  • Analyze conventional steel buildings, including framing plans
  • Design shallow foundations, slabs, modest retaining walls, pits, and steel reinforcing
  • Develop and review structural drawings and specifications to obtain building permits

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers to develop structural drawings and specifications for new buildings, additions, and renovations.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Professional Engineer License, or ability to obtain it within a year
  • Minimum 3 years' experience performing concrete and steel engineering work

Responsibilities include estimating material and labor costs, ordering and coordinating deliveries of pre-engineered metal buildings and accessories, and collaborating with pre-engineered supplier engineers to determine cost-effective solutions.
