Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Nurse Practitioner - Oncology to join our multidisciplinary team in a purpose-built cancer centre in Armidale. This is a unique opportunity for a highly autonomous and clinically focused nurse practitioner to lead advanced oncology care and contribute to timely, coordinated patient care.


About the Role
  • This position will involve delivering extended and advanced nursing care to patients undergoing cancer treatment, as defined by the agreed scope of practice.
  • You will be part of an integrated, purpose-built cancer centre providing medical oncology and haematology care, including infusion services for patients across northern Hunter New England Local Health District.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complex patient assessment, diagnosis, and management of oncology-related health concerns.
  • Leading advanced oncology care within the agreed scope of practice.
  • Collaborating with medical and nursing colleagues to provide timely, coordinated patient care.
  • Demonstrating strong critical thinking skills and clinical expertise in oncology care.
  • Managing emotionally complex situations with professionalism and empathy.
Requirements
  • Current Authority to Practice as a Nurse Practitioner with AHPRA.
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications and endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Demonstrated experience and clinical capability in the specialty of oncology.
  • Eligibility to drive in NSW and willingness to travel for work-related purposes.
