We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Culinary Expert to join our team at JW Marriott. As a key member of our culinary staff, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing ingredients for cooking, portioning, chopping, and storing food, as well as washing and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables. They will also weigh, measure, and mix ingredients, and prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists.

This is a fast-paced and dynamic environment where attention to detail and ability to work under pressure are essential. You will be required to operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers, test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, and monitor food quality while preparing food.

In addition to your culinary skills, you will also be expected to set up and break down work stations, serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles, and wash and disinfect kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher, and equivalent experience. You should also possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

A passion for the hospitality industry and a desire to deliver exceptional customer service are essential. You should be able to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time, and reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
