About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Land Access and Approvals Lead to join our Infrastructure Development team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in identifying, managing, and coordinating land access and statutory and regulatory approvals to facilitate the construction and operation of new infrastructure projects in Queensland, Northern Territory, and New South Wales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Acquire land as required to deliver new projects.
  • Identify all regulatory and statutory approvals required to enable new projects to be developed and constructed, including those related to our Oil and Gas and Renewables portfolio.
  • Appoint and manage external consultants through the preparation of scope and deliverables for packages of work where required and manage their performance.
  • Provide regular business updates on progress, schedule, and budget management.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with external stakeholders, including project partners, clients, regulatory bodies, decision-making bodies, landowners, Traditional Owners, third parties, and the broader community.
  • Build APAs' social licence to operate through implementation and actions.
  • Manage direct reports in delivering on approvals, managing workloads, and providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship where applicable.
Requirements
  • Qualification in Environmental Science, Project Management, or other relevant studies.
  • Demonstrated experience in procurement of land and pursuing environmental approvals for complex projects.
  • Demonstrated successful experience in delivering access for power generation (renewables and/or gas-fired) and linear infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing consultants (performance and budget).
  • Experience in managing complex processes and identifying risk, mitigation, and opportunities.
  • Experience in managing people and teams.
