Job Title: Alcohol and Other Drugs Assessment Clinician

The role of an AOD Assessment Clinician is to provide comprehensive assessments, screening, and initial treatment planning for individuals accessing community health services for alcohol and other drug issues.

About the Role:
  • Providing AOD specific screening, assessment, and initial treatment planning for clients accessing community health services for alcohol and other drug issues.

This role supports consumers requiring treatment, support, and education related to their use of alcohol and other drugs (AOD).

Key Selection Criteria:
  • A tertiary qualification and demonstrated experience in Social Work, Community Services, or other community health-related disciplines.
  • Experience working within the AOD sector, preferably with completion of the AOD skillset, or willingness to undertake it within the first 12 months of employment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the social model of health and how to integrate these principles into practice.
  • Demonstrated experience in report writing, case noting, and program data reporting; ideally relating to alcohol and other drug practice and consumer outcomes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders and consumers.
  • Comprehensive understanding of harm reduction principles and practice.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of AOD individual and group treatment practices, especially in relation to working with families.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and across various platforms.
  • A current employee Working with Children Check and Driver's Licence.
