The role of a School Psychologist is to support the academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development of students through psychological guidance and support.
This position works in close partnership with teachers, parents, and other professionals to help students thrive, and to foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive school community.
The School Psychologist draws on a broad skill set to support students in navigating a wide range of social, emotional and behavioural challenges that may affect their wellbeing, engagement, and learning outcomes.
Main Responsibilities:- Provide psychological guidance and support to students
- Work in partnership with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student wellbeing and academic achievement
- Develop and implement individualized plans to support students' social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Collaborate with the Counselling team and other allied health professionals to provide comprehensive support to students
To achieve these goals, the successful candidate will possess excellent communication and collaboration skills, a strong understanding of the professional body's ethical and legal requirements, and proven competence in working with children, adolescents and families.
About the Ideal CandidateWe are looking for a dedicated and passionate Psychologist who meets the following qualifications:
- A relevant tertiary degree in Psychology, Social Work or Psychotherapy
- Registration as a Psychologist by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- A current Employee Working with Children Check
The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have a strong commitment to supporting the academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development of students.
