Business Development Manager Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and results-driven Business Development Manager to drive sales and profit growth across key state-based independent retailers.

This is an exciting opportunity to build and nurture genuine business partnerships that deliver on revenue, profit, and strategic objectives. Your ability to collaborate with internal teams and influence external stakeholders will be key to executing our Independent Grocery strategy across NSW.

The successful candidate will have proven experience managing Metcash and Independent Grocery accounts, strong commercial acumen, and excellent communication skills. You will be able to identify and unlock growth opportunities at a state level, negotiate and optimize trading terms, and manage trade spend costs within budget guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop account plans to achieve sales targets in partnership with Category, Pricing, Marketing, Logistics, and Finance teams.
  • Drive retailer and Metcash plans, ensuring alignment with company strategies.
  • Monitor performance vs. budget, providing regular variance analysis and actionable insights.
  • Manage trade spend costs effectively.
  • Negotiate and optimize trading terms to maximize business results.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience managing Metcash and Independent Grocery accounts.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and unlock growth opportunities at a state level.
  • Skilled in negotiation and influencing, with confidence engaging both internal and external stakeholders.
